An elderly man from Swansea has received a significant amount in compensation after suffering noise-induced hearing loss from his former employer.
Mr A, who used to work as a heatweigher, began a claim with Mercury Legal after suffering problems with his hearing, so much so that he needed a hearing aid.
He put the problem down to his previous work environment and spoke to our industrial disease solicitor to see what he could do about it.
The case went to court and Mr A received a medical consultation to assess the damage to his ears.
As a result of pursuing the case with Mercury Legal, Mr A received £17,000 in damages which has allowed him to carry on with his life and purchase hearing aids.
